VILLAGE OF CAPITAN
RESOLUTION 2009-14
CHANGE THE NAME OF ASPEN AND SMOKEY BEAR ROAD


WHEREAS, the Village of Capitan has a road called Aspen and one called Smokey Bear Road; and

WHEREAS, several existing roads and streets within the surrounding communities and Lincoln County has the same name as Aspen causing confusion for emergency personnel, the Village of Capitan agrees to change Aspen to Cedar; and

WHEREAS, the Village of Capitan has Smokey Bear Road and Smokey Bear Boulevard which causes confusion for the emergency personnel, the Village of Capitan agrees to change the name of Smokey Bear Road to Little Smokey Road; and

WHEREAS, the Governing Body in and for the Village of Capitan, State of New Mexico, does desire to adopt the change in the name of Aspen to Cedar and Smokey Bear Road to Little Smokey Road.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE VILLAGE OF CAPITAN, NM does accept and adopt the changes in the names of Aspen to Cedar and Smokey Bear Road to Little Smokey Road.

DONE, PASSED, AND APPROVED by the Governing Body of the Village of Capitan, Lincoln County, New Mexico on this 12th day of May, 2009.
